07 Nov George Soros Based PAC has No Clue about Arizona Law
PAC Advertising Campaign Leaves Out the Facts
What happens when an out-of-state billionaire dumps money into a race they know nothing about and no less about the State’s laws? Look no further than the misleading ads the George Soros funded Arizona Safety & Justice Committee. A new commercial campaign launched by the PAC claims the County Attorney’s Office is not performing and that DOC officers have escaped justice.
“It is amazing to me when people make accusations on a subject they know nothing about,” said Bill Montgomery, Maricopa County Attorney. “Two of the cases referenced in the ad were not even in Maricopa County and of the remainder that were, six involved a female guard and a male inmate, yet we charged and prosecuted the cases with felony convictions in each instance and every DOC officer lost their job to send a message that this kind of conduct will not be tolerated,” said Montgomery.
Overall crime is at a 50-year low with violent crime at a 45-year low. Our homicide, burglary, and auto theft rates are at all-time lows. “Since November of 2010, I have been diligently working to enhance public safety within our County and the results are there for everyone to see,” said Montgomery. “I started community-based prosecution assigning attorneys to specific geographic areas within the County to work with local law enforcement and neighborhoods to identify specific crimes and work to reduce them,” he added. “As a result, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office has been designated a High Performing Prosecution Agency,” Montgomery concluded.
The rights of victims of crime is also a continuing emphasis for Bill. The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office has created innovative and national award-winning programs such as the K-9 Victim Support Program and the Child Advocacy Bureau to ensure victims of all ages receive the assistance they have a right to under Arizona’s Crime Victims’ Bill of Rights.
